As a consultant for Southwest Airlines, I spearheaded the design, integration, and governance of a responsive web and native mobile design system. By focusing on integral effort-saving components, our system gained 100% adoption in its first year, boosting usability standards for 27,000+ users while accelerating velocity by an estimated 30 weeks for the 6 autonomous product lines it served.

For mobile-messaging and API SaaS provider, OpenMarket, I crafted an accessible mobile-first design system optimized for assistive technology - driven by product audit and creation of a prioritized stakeholder-aligned component backlog - unifying development and elevating UX across 26 globally distributed delivery teams.

DRIVING PANDEMIC RECOVERY

During an early Southwest Airlines engagement, I facilitated and socialized research at scale to replace outdated mission-critical Crew Planning processes, delivering a modernized data analysis platform which allowed teams to recover following the 787 MAX groundings of 2019, saving the airline an estimated $30M in its first release.

OPTIMIZING CUSTOMER ONBOARDING

Leading interviews and executive workshops across UK time zones for telecom SaaS provider OpenMarket, I optimized customer onboarding for API SaaS services and mobile messaging campaigns, accelerating enterprise customer conversions and driving growth by enabling pre-provisioned free product trials.

CROSS-PLATFORM LAUNCH STRATEGY

3 years later, leveraging careful MVP strategy and the design system I helped create, my product team delivered the airline’s first crew-facing tablet application, forging strong relationships with a busy and vocal group of unionized employees to envision, test, and successfully launch an integrated 2-sided experience for desktop-based admins and tablet-based Flight Attendants, in less than 12 months, overcoming headwinds from shifting priorities and unfamiliar front-end frameworks—a task which executive leadership praised as “herculean.”

FOUNDING DESIGNER

As the 5th employee and founding designer at ROAM.io, I played a key role in scaling toward Series B funding, leveraging my strong roots in visual design to strengthen customer relationships and secure new business:

  • Designed new features for ROAM’s flagship product, a no-code UI creator for digital signage and touch screens

  • Created ROAM’s website to champion our platform

  • Clarified ROAM’s branding and communication strategy across all channels

  • Designed custom B2B and B2C innovations, including immersive retail installations, touch tables, and interactive video walls

EXPANDING INTO NEW MARKETS

I conducted field research, design, and testing for healthcare credentialing client IntelliCentrics, creating a multi-sided HIPAA-compliant surgery scheduling application to streamline communications for hospitals and medical reps, validating new opportunities and mitigating risk while maximizing expansion into new business areas.

DRIVING NEW BUSINESS

When mortgage provider Mr. Cooper sought to grow new business through their mobile payment app, I consulted with IDEO to surface high-value opportunities and design a robust self-service tool which allows customers to view their home’s real estate data, calculate their potential savings, and refinance their home loan, increasing customers engagement and driving new business through the Mr. Cooper mobile payment app.
